What's your thoughts on this astronomy subject?

That's a good idea, but one that has already been thought of. For example, Emily Lakdawalla trained as a geologist, but was recruited by and worked for the JPL in helping to design some of their planetary probes (i.e., the Mars Phoenix Lander), and now works for the Planetary Society in their "New Media Outreach"
