Temporary restraining order questions?

so we moved out of my mother in laws home after we had nothing but trouble with her, ( she expected us to pay all her bills while she went to the casino and snorted meth up her nose) well now she is causing all kinds of trouble we had to take a police officer to her house to get out things, she claims they are hers even after we showed her pictures of the itemns in our previous home, she is accusing us of stealing her crystal gles and other things, even though a police officer was right there watching us, she has been driving by our neighborhood looking for where we live and we feel threatened by her, she claims that we call and cuss at her over the phone, we want to get a restraining order but dont know what to do, we also want to know if we can sue her for slander for telling everybody she knows lies about us, we have sinced changed our phone numbers and have decided to cut her out of our lives for good, anybody know what to do ina situation like this.
