Singapore 2010 New Year countdown fireworks?

we are coming home from overseas to visit friends n family. we do not want to miss the wonderful countdown . plse advise where can i best view it, when is best time. also read somewhere there is a ticket to buy to get to marina bay floating platform ??? how, S$?? we want to be there to view the complete fireworks. last yr we see half as we were at UOB building in raffles place.,kindly advise , appreciate
